The range extends from polyester/ cotton blended fabrics with different structures, from printing media for coated cotton paper to premium artist papers, which are Fogra-certified due to their freedom from acid and the durability of the paper as per ISO 9706.

All of them have the optimum material properties for each application. Canvas fabrics that are mounted on wooden frames must be free from stress whitening - even under difficult conditions, e.g. when used on automatic framing systems. A canvas used in highly frequented environments (hotels, restaurants, offices or business premises) must be waterproof and/or splashproof.

Sihl offers wallpapers and papers with which these end products can be produced using the standard inkjet printing and transfer systems. Either using direct printing (digitally printed wallpapers) or dye sublimation with transfer papers. The high quality and very good runnability these print medias guarantee smooth, efficient production, even with the smallest print runs.

BRILLIANT COLOURS AND ROBUST SURFACES - PRINT MEDIA FOR ADDED VALUE PHOTO PRODUCTS

Whether using direct printing or sublimation printing, brilliant and robust printing results are required in both cases. The printable wallpapers of Sihl’s design2wall collection are compatible for all ink systems (waterbased, solvent, latex or UV) and, with their special inkjet coating, they ensure brilliant colours and good scratch resistance of the print. They are dimensionally stable and can either be hungusing a standard non-woven wallpaper paste or  for the case of the Prepasted version is simply activated with water. Compared to the traditional application of pasting the wall a time saving of 30-40 % can be achieved.

Printing with the dye sublimation process also provides brilliant and intensive colours for printable textiles, which are particularly tough and durable due to the transfer and encapsulation of the colour pigments in polyester coating or fibres.

Many products can be produced by direct printing with corresponding inkjet printing systems, such as photo wallpapers. For the design of living and highly frequented public spaces (restaurants, offices, wellness areas in hotels) there are latex ink systems produce odourless and environmentally friendly prints.

Transfer printing can be used for flexible textiles and hard substrates for high quality results. Home textiles and photo gifts such as mugs, puzzles or notebooks can be produced by transferring colour pigments onto the base material with a robust, scratch-resistant and weather-resistant surface.
