Less plastic, more sustainability: this is what GreenGrafX Photo Paper from Sihl stands for. Unlike conventional PE-film-coated photo papers, it is fully recyclable via the waste paper cycle.

Plastic is always and everywhere in our everyday lives – even in places where we wouldn‘t expect it at first glance. For example, photo paper is usually coated with plastic and should therefore not be disposed of in the paper bin. The coating contains polyethylene (PE) and it is not possible to separate this from the paper base.

With GreenGrafX Photo Paper 220 satin (3616) and GreenGrafX Photo Paper 220 glossy (3617), Sihl comes a big step closer to this promise. These photo papers are the first choice for brilliant and sustainable printing results for photo and poster applications as well as large format printing. The material is not only Made in Germany and FSC® certified, but can also be recycled via the waste paper cycle, meaning that it is certified in accordance with the PTS RH 021/97 Category II method commonly used in the recycling sector. The finishing with a special barrier and the microporous coating replace the PE film of conventional photo papers, making it environmentally friendly while retaining the properties that are important for photo printing. They also ensure very good flatness, even with high ink application, and make the material less sensitive to fluctuations in temperature and humidity. The coating is optimised for water-based ink systems and ensures excellent colour reproduction, a wide colour gamut and fast drying.
