This is because the coating contains polyethylene (PE), and it is not possible to separate this from the paper base.

The big advantage is that it makes the GreenGrafX Photo Papers 100% recyclable via the waste-paper cycle, so that they are certified according to the PTS RH 021/97 category II method, which is common in the recycling environment.
